Don’t you want to know…
Well let me tell it! I have only been in one serious relationship my entire life. I am walking that relationship out right now. While I was always the chick that had a dude I was never consistent enough to stick with the dude.
Relationships are hard work and let’s be honest, I wasn’t willing to put in the work. Some relationships didn’t deserve the work. They just needed to end. I know some of you can relate.
Since I like writing so much I should write a book about it! Seriously, relationships take work and it’s so much easier when you are working as a team. Many people that know me, know that I am in a relationship with my college sweetheart. We decided to end our college “we don’t know what we are doing” relationship and grow up. We later reconnected and we have been going strong every since.
Growing up can make a difference. We crossed paths with each other right when we needed God the most. I was completely off track with my walk with God and he was at a place where God changed his whole life in the blink of an eye. We were in need of God and he knew how to push us closer to Him.
This journey has not been easy and we have not done everything perfect. We both bumped our heads a lot but we still embraced what God was and is still doing in our lives. We keep saying we have to write a book about this because it’s so much that God has done.
We are two hard headed leaders who collided and decided to stick it out this time. Friendship is what connects us. He is my friend and he pushes me. I do the same for him. Friendship matters!
What I enjoy the most about this process is we understand that God is in control. It doesn’t matter how much we stray away. God always leads us right back to Him. What an amazing feeling. It’s great to know that God can use a relationship to lead you right back to Him.
No matter what happens in my relationship I know that I will be led right back to God. We are both content in knowing God is the source. We are strong with God on our own and we are strong with God together.
It’s amazing that God can use what seems unique or untraditional and make it something beautiful. Regardless of how my relationship goes I am confident that it led me back to God. That’s the beauty of it all and that’s tea!
Yassss Lisa, love the story.
*Sips tea slowly *
Very relatable and accurate on how the glory of God will always prevail, no matter how far you stray away.
