What’s your Why?

I was challenged last week with the question of, what’s Lisa’s why? What is it that motivates me beyond my son?

This was a hard question to answer because as a new mother everything I do revolves around my son. I truly had to search myself and ask, what is my why?

Why do I get up everyday at 4:30 am? Why do I keep pushing myself? Why do I keep trying to improve after making the same mistake over and over again? Why do I keep writing when I don’t have the words to say? Why do I keep believing? Why do I lift my head up after my eyes are filled with tears? Why do I keep pursuing my dreams? What is my why?

My why is God. Even when my drive isn’t good enough, my why is God. When I want to quit, my why is God. When I don’t understand it all my why is God. Even after I dust myself off and try again, my why is God. My why is always God.

God is my why! My commitment to God motivates me because I know I am loved unconditionally by God. Even on the days I may not reach my goals as planned I know that God is still pleased that I chose his plan instead of my own. My why gives me comfort to go on.

So, what is your why?

  1. Love this blog post. I can agree, my why is definitely God’s unconditional love and support. God is the reason I wake each morning and why I’m able to go throughout my day despite any obstacles I face. I’m grateful for God’s love and grace.
